Showing Agitation

Cats have many ways of communicating with us — through sounds, tail gestures, body language, eye contact, etc. And when a cat is irritated or anxious, the signs are quite hard to miss.

For one, a flustered cat will usually have that puffed-up appearance, freeze in place, and take a combative stance. In addition, it might start wailing, hissing, biting, or run away. If that’s the case, it’s best to stay away and not approach the cat until it calms down.

Finally, a cat’s ears can also say a lot about its current emotional state. Typically, it will point its ears forward when it’s content or curious, and flatten them against its head and twitch them when it’s angry.
